The Sun Creek Lodge

Marisa, Thomas and their children are wonderful hosts. We really arrived on holiday at Sun Creek Lodge. We are very happy that we took the detour south. [...] Thomas knows the area like the back of his hand. He can tell you an incredible amount about the flora and fauna! Marisa and Muriel looked after us warmly at the lodge. The breakfast and dinner were always excellent. We would come here again at any time! Thank you for the unique stay :)

I don't know where to start or end...If I knew this place existed beforehand I would have spent my entire time here. From beginning to end I felt welcomed and at home. I felt as if I was visiting old friends. I truly do not have words...I would definitely recomend a stay here. The peace and serenity were welcome. The grounds were manicured just enough but not too much as to feel that you are immersed still in nature.

We had a wonderful time here with three girls! We stayed in one of the pretty houses, which are functionally furnished, clean and large. The outside “bathrooms” are beautifully designed. [...] Nature lovers and people looking for peace and quiet have come to the right place. [..] Sustainability and close to nature are not empty words here, but are lived. I will gladly come again.

I loved the Sun Creek Lodge! It felt so nice to be in the jungle, but still feel safe. The owners of the lodge have truly created a little paradise down here. I would say this is one of the most memorable dorms I’ve stayed in so far. It was very easy to reach the lodge with the local bus line from Hopkins. If I do ever visit Belize again, this is the first place that would come to mind!

Sun Creek Lodge was one of four places we stayed in Belize, and was a highlight! The ambience is out of this world, and the hosts are charming and wonderfully accomodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will be back the next time we visit Belize!

Sun Creek Lodge is the perfect place to escape the masses of tourists and experience the authentic Belize lifestyle surrounded by nature! The lodge is easy to reach by bus from Belize City and offers the possibility to continue South to Guatemala by ferry. Marisa and Thomas are very knowledgeable about the local nature and culture and can always help you find the right activity to do. The accommodation is lovely and they even have backpacker-friendly dorms!

We had a wonderful time at Sun Creek Lodge. The host family and their staff are very warm and loving, we felt at home. You can organize great, authentic tours with locals (e.g. the Farming and Chocolate tour with Eladio - highly recommended). They have a great deal of knowledge about the country, the culture and the diverse flora and fauna. We really enjoyed the exciting conversations. As well as relaxing in the hammocks in the beautiful tropical garden.

I love this place! It is fused with nature. I left feeling calm and refreshed.

Nice rooms, love the trees, birds and clean atmosphere. I had a nice conversation with the owner, who is a humble and down to earth guy. The facilities are well kept and in proper working condition. All spaces are clean and orderly. I left feeling rejuvenated and at peace.
